Some of our water customers, located to the north and west of downtown Cohutta, were impacted yesterday by low water pressure or, in some cases, no water service due to a 24-inch water main break. The 24-inch water main (a VERY large line!) which broke yesterday feeds the Bradley County water tank which serves several of our customers. Our crews worked throughout the night along with Eastside Utilities to repair the ruptured line and to fill the tanks that serve the areas with total outages.
Early this morning, Eastside Utilities informed us that we can open our connections with them. Dalton Utilities crews immediately responded and went to open connections and restore valve and pump changes made yesterday to push water around the system. By 8:30 a.m. this morning, all water service has been restored.
We’re sorry if you experienced low pressure or no water service during this period. If you did experience low water pressure, it was a result of us trying to move water around through use of valves to serve those customers with no water at all. Once again, we apologize for any inconveniences and we thank you for your patience!
