Operator (Water)

An opening is available for an Assistant Water Operator in the Water/Wastewater Plant Operations Department. Overall duties include but are not limited to, operational and technical tasks as necessary to assure the production of safe and potable water by the water plants. As assistant operator, employee will be responsible for providing assistance to plant operator and performing operational duties as assigned by the plant operator and/or by the supervisor.

Required Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to obtain Georgia Water Treatment Class III Certification within 18 months of becoming employed and must be willing and able to progress through further certifications during the duration of employment. Utilizes various types of equipment, tools, and machinery in the performance of tasks as a pick-up truck, fork lift, grounds equipment, electric hoist, floor buffer, hand tools, mechanics tools, cleaning tools and related supplies, etc.

4 On/4 Off 12-hour rotating shift with a half hour lunch, From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., rotates from night shift to day shift every 4 months. Some over-time required, but not guaranteed.

Pay Range: $12.43/hr – 22.02/hr
