Statement Regarding Settlement Agreement with The City of Rome, Georgia

 

Dalton Utilities has entered into a settlement agreement with The City of Rome, Georgia, pertaining to the alleged discharge of certain chemical substances generally referred to as per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) through its wastewater treatment operations.  Dalton Utilities denies any wrongdoing in connection with the alleged presence of PFAS in Rome’s municipal water system and rejects all liability associated with Rome’s lawsuit. In serving the best interests of our customers, Dalton Utilities reached a full and final resolution of the matter to avoid costly and protracted litigation.
