Dalton Utilities' commitment to the environment and our reinvestment in our systems and operations allows us to keep pace with the region's growing wastewater needs while supporting the natural environment of the area, both present and future.

Our wastewater system serves over 12,000 customers. Some 67 percent of this waste load is industrial.

Dalton Utilities award-winning wastewater treatment facilities have been recognized for operational excellence by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals (GAWP) since 1999.

  • 4 pump stations, 12 pumps, 2.9 miles of effluent canal, 320 miles of piping and over 19,000 sprayheads on our Land Application System (LAS)

Beyond being a method to treat wastewater, our forested land application systems is also a wildlife habitat. Each year, birdwatchers and environmentalists from around the state come to see the many hawks, wild turkey, rare birds, ducks, deer and coyote that populate the LAS's 9,800+ acres.
